Simon Brown (Chair)
LA Governor
With a BSc(Hons) in Human Biology and Exercise Science I have for the past 11 years taught secondary science in large inner city schools until moving to Cornwall in 2016 and have had various roles both academic and pastoral. I have a great understanding of the many things schools must do as well as the challenges faced and relish the opportunity since being elected as parent governor of working to ensure the future success of Marlborough School as an inclusive learning environment that "raises the expectations and achievements for all."

Adam Grice (Vice-Chair)
Parent Governor
Both my children love Marlborough. The creative approach to learning, the active, multi-facetted curriculum, delivered inside and outside the classroom and the inspiring ethos the school instils in its pupils mean there's always something new and exciting to hear about on the walk home.
My background is in multi-disciplinary creative and collaborative arts and I've worked the past 15 years in Higher Education, lecturing and managing technical teams at University of the Arts London, and more recently managing a programme of projects for Falmouth University supporting student engagement and wellbeing.
I think we live in an extraordinary time and while there are many challenges facing schools like ours, there are also exciting opportunities, with unprecedented access to tools and knowledge at our fingertips and technology enabling us to explore the planet in ways we never imagined and bringing the world to our doorstep.
As a governor I hope to contribute to the school and its incredible staffing team in adapting to this changing environment and to help to make the provision for Marlborough children the best it can be.

Staff Governor

Ben Godsall
Co-opted Governor
My family and I moved to Falmouth in 2019 and quickly felt at home here. Our son is at Marlborough and the school has given us a great sense of community and introduced us to many wonderful people.
I work as an Environmental Consultant, engaging with agroforestry companies in Indonesia to improve the sustainability of their agricultural operations and ensure high welfare standards for employees and their families. Prior to this I worked at a university in the field of Ecology, managing field sites and lab work as well as guiding students through their final projects. This taught me the value of creating a positive and supportive learning environment for students, something that is at the core of Marlborough's ideology. I hope to bring my experiences into the role of governor and support Marlborough in providing a diverse, enjoyable and supportive place of learning for its students.
